From Cologne to the Future of Nutrition: Our Team’s Experience at Anuga 2025

This year’s Anuga 2025 in Cologne once again confirmed its title as the most important international meeting of the food and beverage industry.

More than 8,000 exhibitors and professionals from over 100 countries participated in an event that showcased the future of taste, innovation, and sustainability.

The Pylarinos Advertising team had the opportunity to experience this event up close, discover the emerging trends shaping the market, and connect with people and brands that are inspiring the future of the industry.

The standout trends

Anuga this year presented a range of thematic sections that reflect the rapid evolution of the industry:

  • Plant-based and alternative proteins: next-generation products that prove plant-based eating is not a trend, but a strategic choice.
  • Sustainability at every stage: from packaging to raw material sourcing, companies are focusing on responsibility and transparency.
  • Technological innovation: smart production and logistics solutions, AI systems for demand forecasting and automation.
  • Revamped consumer experience: taste, quality, and wellness now coexist in every product.

The exhibition proved that adaptability and creativity are the driving forces of the industry, and that the future of food is inextricably linked to innovation, collaboration, and respect for the environment.

Our presence

Our team’s participation in Anuga had three main goals:

  • To draw inspiration and observe the strongest international trends.
  • To strengthen existing partnerships and build new ones.
  • To bring back knowledge and ideas that will translate into action and strategy.

Our experience was rich, from interactions with international exhibitors to discussions with pioneers who are transforming the market. Every day at Anuga was a lesson in how passion and innovation can coexist with sustainability and quality.

Below, three of our team members share their impressions from this year’s Anuga.

Dimitris Pylarinos – CEO

“Anuga is one of the largest international food exhibitions in the world.

We started visiting the exhibition in 2015, to get to know brands from around the world, observe trends, dominant colors in labeling, bottles, and packaging in general.

We noticed that many Greek companies with export departments participate in the exhibition and are making efforts to sell in markets outside our country.

In this year’s visit, beyond the trends, we engaged more closely with the Greek Participation and the booths that graced the exhibition. We listened to the entrepreneurs and learned firsthand what they expect from advertising agencies like ours and our team.

We covered more than 50 km and visited over 200 Greek businesses. We spoke with the people who are working hard and proudly representing the Greek food industry. We believe that as a link in this chain, we contribute through label design and business promotion to Greece’s positive image and the image of its people abroad.”

Eirini Parissi – Account Manager

“My visit to Anuga 2025 was truly a remarkable experience. The scale of the event, the incredible number of exhibitors, and the continuous flow of visitors every day impressed me — a true celebration of the global food and beverage sector.

What made me particularly proud was the strong presence of Greek businesses — companies with a modern outlook, quality products, and aesthetically pleasing labels that exude professionalism and extroversion.

Even more encouraging is the fact that many of them have focused exclusively on international markets, significantly promoting Greek production abroad while also strengthening the domestic economy.”

Eleni Kalitsounaki – Account Manager

“This year’s ANUGA was without a doubt one of the most outstanding exhibition experiences in recent years. We all returned full of images, inspiration, and many notes on trends, labels, colors, and fonts that sparked our interest and imagination.

This year, we had the pleasure of getting to know the people behind the Greek participation better, who through impressive booths offered visitors a true taste of the high gastronomic level and creativity of Greek products.

Our discussions with dozens of entrepreneurs who proudly represented our country abroad inspired us and filled us with ideas on how we too, through our work, can contribute to boosting the extroversion and visibility of Greek products both internationally and domestically.”

We are already looking forward to what the next event has in store. One thing is certain — we’ll be there.
